Get to know us

Roeh Israel Abilene started in 2022 with four families who had a desire to worship The Almighty according to the instructions given to us in the Torah as well as through the life and teachings of Yeishua. We use liturgy from a Jewish Siddur in our services while bringing in our belief that Yeishua is the promised Messiah.

One of the highlights of our congregation is the acquisition of our very own kosher Torah Scroll. The story behind it is awesome  We have grown now to about 25 members, with a growing online audience. We recently started livestreaming our services on YouTube. We are working on streaming or uploading them to our FB group page.

We meet each Shabbath/Saturday for a time of worship and fellowship. We also meet on special Holy Days to show our love for The Almighty and His Messiah. We enjoy doing this through blessings, song, and food. After our services, we have a time of fellowship known as Oneg/Delight.

Our mission

Our mission is clear and simple: to spread the message of our Jewish Messiah to the world, beginning right here in Abilene. We believe that the teachings of our Messiah hold the key to understanding and experiencing true peace, love, and purpose in life. Through our efforts, we aim to share these transformative teachings with individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs, so that they too can find hope and fulfillment. Abilene is just the starting point of our journey, as we are committed to reaching every corner of the globe with this life-changing message. Together, let us embark on this mission of spreading light and bringing positive change to the world.

Our vision

Our vision is to change the perception of Torah as a burden. We aim to enlighten people that Torah and Messiah are not mutually exclusive choices. Our mission is to demonstrate that Torah is a source of guidance and wisdom, enriching our lives rather than burdening us. By providing education and promoting understanding, we seek to inspire individuals to embrace the teachings of Torah, while also recognizing the significance of the Messiah. We believe that both elements can coexist harmoniously, complementing each other in the journey of spiritual growth and enlightenment. Through our efforts, we hope to foster a greater appreciation for the value and relevance of Torah in today's world, fostering a peaceful and inclusive community of believers.

Our team

Our membership is a diverse group of individuals, encompassing people of Jewish heritage and those who are new to the teachings of the Torah. We have members from all age groups, ranging from the young to the elderly. Our community consists of individuals with varying educational backgrounds, including those with college degrees and those who have gained knowledge through life experiences. Collaborating and harmonizing within our community can be simultaneously enriching and slightly demanding. However, what unifies us is our profound love for the Almighty and for one another. We have formed a true family where support and togetherness prevail.
