Demonic Deception – Part 7 – Not of This World
Central question of this message: Can you make sense of the existence of space aliens?
This parasha is called VaYikra which means “When He Called.” We
begin a new book of Scripture today. Its name comes from the fourth
word in the English and the first word in the original Hebrew.
Lev 1:1-3
1 Then the Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the
tent of meeting, saying, 2 "Speak to the sons of Israel and say
to them, 'When any man of you brings an offering to the
Lord, you shall bring your offering of animals from the herd
or the flock. 3 'If his offering is a burnt offering from the
herd, he shall offer it, a male without defect; he shall offer it
at the doorway of the tent of meeting, that he may be
accepted before the Lord.
We are continuing in our series on demonic deception. And today I wish to deal with one of the more troubling topics which faces believers today. The matter of whether space aliens exist, and if we have been visited by them over the ages.
This research seems to show an increasing trend in the USA for people to believe in aliens from outer space visiting the Earth.
A poll was taken in November of 2025 by YouGov showing an increasing trend for Americans to believe much more about alien life from outer space.1 The poll showed that 56% of Americans believe aliens definitely or probably exist. That percentage is twice as high as those who believe in Bigfoot.
When polls were taken regarding the religious aspect of the respondents to the survey, another interesting pattern emerges.
A survey by the Pew Research Center issued a report which was featured in an article by Becka Alpern and Joshua Alvarado published in July 2021 which detailed how common it was for Americans to believe in “life on other planets.”2
The Pew poll showed that in the USA, Christians(at 57%) are less likely than nonreligious Americans (at 80%) to say that life probably exists on other planets.
1 https://yougov.com/en-us/articles/53486-half-of-americans-believe-aliens-have-visited-earth 2 Religious Americans less likely to believe intelligent life exists on other planets. Alper and Alvarado, Pew Research Center, July 2021. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2021/07/28/religious-americans-less-likely-to-believeintelligent-life-exists-on-other-planets/
And those adults who attend religious services weekly are less likely (at 44%) than those who seldom or never attend services (at 75%) to say that intelligent life exists in outer space.
No matter how you crunch the data, it is clear that more Americans today believe in space aliens than before. I think the numbers are greater now than any time in our history.
I want to contrast these polls with another important one. Let’s examine a poll regarding how many Americans believe in G-d. The Gallup organization conducts a poll regularly on this topic, and a clear trend is emerging.3
Interestingly, how you ask the question regarding belief in G-d has a dramatic influence on the answer you receive.
When asked,
“Do you believe in G-d?”
The latest numbers come in at 81%.
When asked a more probing question phrased,
“For each of the items I’m going to read to you, please tell me whether it is something you believe in, something your’re not sure about, or something you don’t believe in. What about G-d?”
With this question the numbers of those who believe in G-d come in at only 79%.
And with a more pointed question, focusing on a level of certainty, there was a different number.
“Which comes closest to desribing you: you are convinced that G-d exists;
you think G-d probably exists, but you have a little doubt; you think G-d probably exists, but you have a lot of doubt; you think G-d probably does
https://news.gallup.com/poll/268205/americans-believe-god.aspx3
not exist, but you are not sure; or you are convinced that G-d does not exist?”
Those who are convinced that G-d exists came in at only 64%.
Regardless of how the question is framed, the trend lines are consistently lower year over year.
Here’s what I want you to see by all these trends in America. Right now it seems that only 64% of us believe for certain that G-d exists, and 56% of us believe for certain that alien life forms exist. When will those trend lines cross? When will those of us who are convinced about G-d be outnumbered by those who are convinced about space aliens?
It seems to me that so far, the fundamental presumption underlying each of the “space alien” polls is that these beings are in no way associated with G-d, or with His revelation of our history through Scripture in His eternal plans. I believe that presumption is fundamentally flawed.
I believe that extraterrestrial life is a certainty – not a mere probability. My belief is that until Yeshua returns to this Earth to take His throne in Jerusalem, both He and the Father are “out of this world.”
The Father’s throne is in heaven.
Ps 11:4
4 The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord's throne is in heaven;
Isa 66:1-2
66 Thus says the Lord,
"Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool.
Where then is a house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that I may rest?
2 "For My hand made all these things,
Thus all these things came into being," declares the Lord.
Yeshua is sitting now on a heavenly throne, at the right hand of the Father.
Heb 8:1-2
8 Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a
high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2 a minister in the sanctuary, and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.
So, Scripture has demonstrated that there are certainly two “extraterrestrial beings” in existence, even before our universe was formed. And that being is the triune Gd.
One of those parts – G-d – has not been seen by the eyes of mankind, because His holiness is simply too much for us to survive as fallen creatures.4
Another of those parts – Yeshua – Who is the creator of all that is, and Who lived among us as a human man, showing us how to live-out Torah. We have been able to see, touch, interact with, and even murder Him. His death, however, paid the death penalty for us which we had justly brought upon ourselves by our sin.
And the other part of the triune G-d is the Spirit. The Spirit is directed by G-d and Yeshua to do Their will. You cannot see this part of the triune G-d, but on occasion people have seen the manifestation of the Spirit in the air.
Luke 3:21-22
4 Ex 33:20
21 Now it came about when all the people were baptized, that Jesus
also was baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened, 22
and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove,
and a voice came out of heaven, "Thou art My beloved Son, in Thee I
am well-pleased."
Acts 2:1-4
2 And when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in
one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a
violent, rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were
sitting. 3 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all
filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.5
It is clear from many passages of Scripture that the Holy Spirit has been active on the Earth since creation. See Gen 1:2. The Spirit of G-d is not limited to any location, but can encounter us anywhere we are at any time. See. Ps 139:7-12.
The Spirit of G-d was given to individuals so that they might construct the Mishkan. See Ex 31:3 – 35:31. And the Spirit was given so that Israel might win wars. See Judg 3:10. The Spirit was given to the elders of Israel and as a
5 In Scriptural use, a “tongue” refers to a specific known language. It is clear from the subsequent verses in the passage that they were given power to speak in other known and understandable languages, not meaningless gibberish. It is also clear that those languages were spoken by others in the area around them, and those others heard the men speaking in their own language. This gifting was specifically given so that people who spoke other languages could hear the important message being given at this particular time. There is no Scriptural evidence that this gifting to these men continued beyond this one time. This event is not to be confused with a counterfeit known as “speaking in tongues” which is practiced by some in the normative church which they believe is a manifestation of the “infilling of the Holy Spirit” and a higher level of holiness.
manifestation of that event they prophesied. See Nu 11:25. The Spirit has the power to actually move our bodies, and even take them to other locations. See Eze 3:12, 3:24, 11:1, Mt 4:1, Ac 8:39. The Holy Spirit can help us know what to say to advance the kingdom of G-d when we are in an unfamiliar circumstance. See Lk 12:12. The Holy Spirit instructs our spirit without words, and gives us a deeper understanding of holy things. See Ro 8:16, 1 Co 2:10-16.
It is also clear that there are unholy spirits which have been active on this Earth.
An evil spirit tormented king Saul. See 1 Sam 16:14 – 19:9. Evil spirits can also speak through the voice of one being inhabited by that spirit. See Mk 5:2-12, Ac 19:15. I think it is safe to say that evil spirits oppose everything that the Holy Spirit stands for.
According to Scripture, G-d is on His throne in Heaven. And Yeshua has visited the Earth in bodily form on a number of occasions, but is now seated on His heavenly throne today. The Spirit of G-d remains on the Earth, and is still very active.
Satan and his angels (1/3 of the total of angels at the beginning) who were led astray by Satan, were cast out of Heaven, and now are on the Earth.6
What I am trying to show with all this is the fact that people have created a bit of a disconnect between that which they can see around them, and the spiritual realm which is a combination of seen and unseen. I believe this division is incorrect.
6 Rev 12:4
The takers of polls forget to include in their definition of “extraterrestrials” the One who created the Earth and the angels (both holy and demonic) which are also not of this world.
It is clear that G-d, Yeshua, and the Spirit have come from elsewhere to personally impact the Earth, and to influence those people who inhabit it. So, have “extraterrestrials” come to Earth?” Of course. Have these entities come to aid mankind in peace? Of course. The Torah gave us a way of living that was dramatically different from that of the natural inclinations of our hearts. The prophets emphasized the obedience to G-d as the right way to live. Yeshua showed us by His daily life what a Torah-obedient lifestyle was to be.
But Satan and his fallen angels have come to frustrate G-d’s plan among mankind.
They have come to Earth not to benefit, but to destroy. They have been active in that plan since the time of the garden. Satan began with “Did G-d really say…?”7 Satan’s first trick seems to still be working, especially among those who actually believe in G-d and are familiar with some of what the Bible has to offer. And so a large number of the sweet believers in the normative Church have been taught to discard the vast majority of Scripture which they have relegated to being “old” and not “new.”8
We know that Satan and fallen angels can appear to us as something very different than reality. They have the power of disguise and camouflage.
7 Gen 3:1
8 Thus they follow the edicts of the Catholic church which has adopted some of the heresy of Marcion. These sweet believers attempt to understand the “New Testament” in isolation, without connection to all that has come before, and thus they misinterpret certain passages, and create doctrines upon them, to their own destruction.
2 Cor 11:10-15
10 As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia. 11 Why? Because I do not love you?
God knows I do! 12 But what I am doing, I will continue to do, that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be
regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising
themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan
disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is not
surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of
righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.
If we include G-d, Yeshua, the Spirit, and the angels into the definitionial circle of “extraterrestrials” then we are absolutely certain that they have been visiting the Earth since the beginning, and have come to influence mankind toward good… and for the evil ones, also an influence toward evil.
The question then becomes, are there other created beings which are not described above which are visiting the Earth as well? Is ET real? Are there really “little green men?” If so, what does that do to our theology?
I have heard some say that they believe in space aliens, and believe that G-d created them as well. But as part of that explanation, they don’t have an explanation for why G-d wouldn’t give us advance warning about them, so that we might not be confused by their appearance. So, their explanation has always troubled me. G-d has always given us sufficient information so that we might be
confident in His sovereighnty, and we would be able to understand the times we live in.
The writings of the prophets contain many mysterious pronouncements, and none of those seem to speak of “space aliens” who come to interact with mankind. But the writings of what G-d told the prophets are reliable reminders in every time of history.
We might not be able to understand some of the prophetic writings in our age, but we can take comfort in knowing that when that prophetic age occurs, those writings will remind us that these future times did not catch G-d by surprise. He saw them coming, and gave us assurance through the prophets that He was still on His throne, and the end of the age is still in His hands.
I cannot believe that G-d would fail to give us through the prophets some indication that we would be visited by space aliens who would come to interact with us. Especially since the existence of space aliens seems to be such a destructive force to faith in G-d.
In truth, the very fact that the Scriptures do not speak of space aliens is being used by some as a proof that our G-d is not all-knowing and not all-powerful. They insist that the belief in our G-d was a human-created superstition that might have made sense for primitive humans in antiquity, but certainly is not a reasonable belief structure for these modern times. These arguments have eroded the faith of a number of people in the normative Church in the last century.
I don’t believe that G-d leaves us without direction in this age, any more than He would leave our forebearers without direction in their time. He has not changed, and His love is not diminished. Nor did He lack vision of the age in which we live.
I have reconciled the existence of the heavenly “extraterrestrials” with the manifestations of ET which are now being more exposed than ever. The only way I see to do that is to recognize that G-d has already told us about them in Scripture, and all we need to do is to see them for what (and whom) they are.
We have already seen that the main tier of Egyptian gods, most taking human form with animal-like heads, might well have been actual beings. If the holy angels can have human shapes, with wings and the faces of animals, then fallen angels should also have some of those kinds of shapes. They might have appeared to the priests of Egypt in visions, or maybe in actual bodily form.
The Egyptian gods were designed to draw worship away from the One true G-d, so without a doubt, they effectively did so. And the priests of those gods possessed amazing power to perform signs and wonders supporting those evil gods.9 We have already seen in our previous studies that evil has the power of signs and wonders as well, and will deceive many.
Consequently, I have no problem believing that there were physical manifestations by fallen angels which were observed in Egypt and which they worshipped as gods. In those days the fallen angels had great power.
9 Ex 7:8-12
We know that Ezekiel saw among the holy angels who surround the throne beings which he described, and which are commonly translated into English as “wheels.”10
The Hebrew word translated as “wheels” is ophan.
It signifies something that is spinning, revolving. But not touching the ground so as to be weight-bearing as a wheel might be.
These “wheels” also have another attribute, they have “eyes all around.”11 The
Hebrew word translated here as “eyes” is ayin.
This Hebrew word has many possible interpretations. Although the translation “eye” is technically correct, I am not certain that it is the best one. A spring of water is also called by the same Hebrew word. I believe that what Ezekiel might have been describing in those spinning “wheels” the appearance of some sort of openings gushing forth something from the rims of those “wheels.” If so, what
10 Ezek 1:16-11:32
11 Ezek 1:18
was gushing out was of a contrasting color to the “wheel” and since the “wheel” was described by Ezekiel as “sparkling beryl.” The reference is not very specific, but it indicates a gemstone. There are a number of different colors associated today with beryl, from pink to red, to purple, and even green. Maybe what was described as “eyes” or rather fountains, on the rim could have been emitting some sort of white light.
By now you have already envisioned a spinning “flying saucer” type of craft that has been popularized by science fiction movie making since the 1950s.
We are all familiar with the claim of the famed UFO crash site near Roswell NM back in 1947. A rancher discovered some metal and rubber debris at his ranch near Corona which is in central New Mexico, and reported it to the government at the Roswell Army Air Field. Personnel from the Roswell Army Air Field retrieved the debris.
The parts retrieved were of a specialized balloon assembly with some equipment as part of a top secret project called Project Mogul. Mogul was designed to detect Soviet nuclear tests, and was being developed out of Alamagordo AAF. The army concocted a claim that the debris was from a regular weather balloon as a cover story. That cover story was so thin, that it kicked-off a long-lasting conspiracy theory regarding aliens and UFOs. There was actually even a press release which suggested that a disk-shaped UFO had crashed and that the Army had retrieved the craft and at least one alien body.
The “crashed flying saucer” and “bodies of aliens” narrative has persisted, and has been amplified by repetition by theorists, and Hollywood movies alike.
A fairly large number of people have found it quite profitable to perpetuate the “aliens and UFOs” legends. This includes people who claim to have witnessed these things, as well as Hollywood studios who can use sophisticated computergenerated graphics to tell stories of alien invasions.
Recently, congressional investigations and public hearings have showcased a number of videos and testimony of “whistleblowers” who have come forward to discuss the recently-declassified government archives of UFO encounters.12
Let’s examine these things in light of what we know regarding angels. Do some holy angels have attending disks that spin, and which have a spiritual connection with the angel so that they move together? Do these holy angels also sometimes have different faces which appear to us as animals? Yes, as to both of these.
Does it stand to reason that when Satan was cast out of Heaven together with 1/3 of the angels, some of them also had such spinning disks as part of their essence, as well as some animal-like faces? That makes sense to me. And since they are cast out of heaven, they would be more likely to be visible on the Earth, it seems, if their power to remain invisible to the human eye is degraded.
If these sightings are fallen angels, as I believe, then they would be able to do things that are impossible with the physical world that we find familiar. They can move almost instantaneously, and with speeds that cannot be matched by our

aircraft. They can appear from the spiritual dimension and disappear back into that dimension.
So, what about the “little green (or more commonly now- grey) men?”
We know that angels have walked among us and looked like men, that we considered them to be humans, and not angels. See Gen 18:2-8, Heb 13:1-2.
At the time of Moses, the elapsed time of their fall was not as long as it is today. If these “space aliens” are indeed fallen angels, but they are now correctly described as grey, gaunt, and fragile, how can that be? I propose that they are experiencing the same degradation in power and form as we experience when we draw away from G-d.
Jewish lore holds that before the fall of mankind in the garden, our faces shone and we were clothed with light. This was because we walked closely with G-d and were sinless.
When Moses went up to G-d on the mountain, he changed. His face was glowing brightly.
Ex 34:29-35
29 And it came about when Moses was coming down from Mount
Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses' hand as
he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not
know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with
Him. 30 So when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses,
behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come
near him. 31 Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers
in the congregation returned to him; and Moses spoke to them. 32
And afterward all the sons of Israel came near, and he commanded
them to do everything that the Lord had spoken to him on Mount
Sinai. 33 When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil
over his face. 34 But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to
speak with Him, he would take off the veil until he came out; and
whenever he came out and spoke to the sons of Israel what he had
been commanded, 35 the sons of Israel would see the face of Moses,
that the skin of Moses' face shone. So Moses would replace the veil
over his face until he went in to speak with Him.
The same thing happened to Yeshua, when He communed more closely with the Father on what has now been called, “the mount of transfiguration.”
Matt 17:1-3
17 And six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John
his brother, and brought them up to a high mountain by themselves. 2
And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the
sun, and His garments became as white as light.
When Yeshua is on His throne in Heaven, He glows very brightly. See Ezek 1:2628, Rev 1:10-17.
Our people believe that as we are closer to G-d, we glow in our spirit with the holy fire of G-d. It is described much as one would a fire of a pile of wood. In the heart of the fire, the embers glow brightly. But take an ember out of the fire, and it will immediately begin to diminish in its light and heat. It will eventually go out and die. It will become cold. But return it to the center of the fire, and it will once again glow more brightly.
I think this is what is happening with the fallen angels. In the presence of G-d, they had amazing power, and perfect form. But they have departed from the holy fire, and are now growing dim, and losing their power.
In the movie ET, the extraterrestrial was dying, and the only way for him to live was to “go home.” The fallen angels are forever barred from going back home.
And I believe they also are also slowly dying, being separated from the source of life in G-d.
We know that in the end, all will look upon Satan, and shake their heads in amazement at how wretched and weak he is.
Isa 14:12-17
12 "How you have fallen from heaven,O star of the morning, son of
the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth,You who have
weakened the nations! 13 "But you said in your heart,'I will ascend to heaven;I will raise my throne above the stars of God,And I will sit on the mount of assemblyIn the recesses of the north. 14 'I will ascend
above the heights of the clouds;I will make myself like the Most
High.' 15 "Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol,To the
recesses of the pit. 16 "Those who see you will gaze at you,They
will ponder over you, saying,'Is this the man who made the earth
tremble,Who shook kingdoms, 17 Who made the world like a
wildernessAnd overthrew its cities,Who did not allow his
prisoners to go home?'
The power that Satan and his angels have, even in diminished levels, is still well beyond what we are able to understand. We do well not to pick a fight with Satan, but to resist him by growing closer to G-d and His power.
I believe that the demons are losing their power, and I believe they know it even better than do we. I believe that the fallen angels are so weak now that they can die and leave behind what is now being called “non-human biologic” carcases.
This desperate and weakened state is why I believe they are so intent on taking as many as possible away from G-d’s holy fire as they can in these end days.
I urge you not to be drawn away from G-d and His truth by word of “space aliens” or “flying saucers.” Let those reports remind you that the battle is the L-rd’s, and that He has already won it.
Let the reports of UFOs and space aliens remind you that we are in a real battle during these end days, and to be ever-vigilant regarding the deception of Satan and his angels. Find strength in knowing that as we grow closer to G-d, our embers grow brighter and stronger, but that those who have turned away from Him are growing dimmer, darker, and colder. Death awaits them, and all those who follow them.
