Counting of the Omer

Here I am, ready and prepared to count

the Omer, as it is written in the Torah:

“You shall count from the day following

the day of rest, from the day you

brought the sheaf of the wave-offering,

seven full weeks shall be counted; you

shall count fifty days to the day

following the seventh week.”

Counting of the Omer

Baruch atah Adonai Eloheynu Melekh ha’olam

asher kideshanu bemitzvotav vetzivanu al

sefirat ha’omer.

Blessed are you, L-rd G-d, King of the universe, who has sanctified us by Your commandments,

and commanded us concerning the counting of

the Omer.

Counting of the Omer

Today is the first day of the first week of 7

completed weeks and 1 day from the morrow after the Shabbat during the Festival of Unleavened

Bread when the wave sheaf of barley was offered.

Today is the first day of 50 days from the morrow after the Shabbat during the Festival of Unleavened Bread when the wave sheaf of barley was offered.

There are 49 days left until Chag haShavuot; the Festival of Weeks.

We have now fulfilled our duty on this night to count the Omer each day.

We will strive to walk in the footsteps of our Messiah.

We will count and remember!

Cantor Prompt: Let each day bring new light and insight.

Audience Prompt: We prepare our hearts for Shavuot.

Closing Prayer

Avinu Malkeinu, help us count these days with purpose.

Refine our thoughts and desires. Prepare us to receive more of Your Word and Spirit. May we become like our Firstfruits, Yehoshua the Messiah.

AMEN!
