Light Are You?
Can others see clearly?
Intro
In today’s portion we have the instructions regarding the setting up of the Tabernacle/Temple
Menorah/Lampstand with its
lights/lamps.
In other passages, we have more detailed instructions on this furniture.
In his Sermon on the Mount,
Yehoshua tells us that we are to let our light shine in the world What kind of light are you?
Are You a
Spotlight?
A spotlight shines its intense light to expose things
Sometimes it is used to expose danger
But it can be used to expose things we don’t like or agree with
It can also be used to shine the light on ourself
If we are a spotlight, we must be careful of how we use our light Heb. 4:12; Rom. 12:3

Are You a
Floodlight?
Floodlights shine a lot of light in a big area
Their light is generally diffused as it has to cover a large area They are somewhat like a
spotlight
Again, we must use them
carefully
Are You a
Lighthouse?
Lighthouses are found on the shorelines to warn sailors of impending danger
Unlike the spotlight and the floodlight, they are meant, not for our protection, but for the
protection of others
The Lights on The
Menorah
The menorah is not the lights It is the stand upon which the lights are placed
The lights are placed in such a fashion as to shine in front of the menorah to fill the Holy Place with light
This allowed the priest to
perform his duties safely and properly
The same is true for us when we use our light properly
Conclusion
1)
What kind of light are you
shining
2)
Are you shining a bright spotlight that can burn and blind those it is focused on

shining your light softly so that others may see the way to
perform their duties in the
kingdom properly, in a way that brings honor to The Almighty ThePhoto by PhotoAuthor is licensed under CCYYSA.
